Comments: Just came back to the website to see what's new. Wow! So many more people have written about this great little lake. I want to say thanks to my cousins, Hazel Schanke Erikson and Lisa Schanke Jensen for the photos they shared with me. If ever I start feeling a little lost, I can always go back to the lake, and all is well again. Many, Many thanks to Rick Davids and anyone else who makes this site possible. When we used to make a trip into Hawley, there was a store I really liked. I think it was called "The Trading Post". I remember a hotel (I think) that had $1 dollar bills tacked to the ceiling.

My first friends… Alan Engvaldsen. Mike MacCleary, Kathy McCormack, Susan Wassmer, Kim Teater. Comments: I’m lost for words… I cut down a huge tree today in Las Vages that hung over my house, and thought how my dad would have been proud of me for such a drop. It was then that I goggled Teedyuskung, remembering the MOST wonderful times in my life… That’s when I found this site… It brought happy tears to my eyes since we lost most of our pictures of those times. My sister Joan may be able to find some old shots of the lake. The stories I would love to tell go on and on, but more important the people that I knew and loved where many. The 60’s on Lake Teedyuskung were truly a time and place of innocence. I still think often of my Teedyuskung friends and family as Uncle Harry, Ant Mary, Uncle Don and Ant Margie always taught us, that was what it was all about. “Family” The early years would be square dancing at the Warriner-Smith cottage, just 4 cabins away… seemed like 10 miles at the age of 8 years old in 1959 in the dark. The old man that called the squares was my hero… “Right onto your partner and it’s grad right

Comments: Wow wow wow. Thanks for all of the memories. I was a member of the family in the bright yellow house about 3 away from woodloch from the 70's on (between the White's and the Griffin's). We were about the 5th dock (right next to the White's). I, like some of you, also remember sneaking over to WL to water ski, minigolf, bocce, play tennis, spa, or other ... How amazing was the fishing ... used to bring my daily catches to Mrs. Lit for $1. Uncle George (Griffin) would school us in basketball or take us out to the lillies for some large mouth. Sifting throught the .22 sillouette range at the top of the dirt road for live rounds. I remember Mr. Prest shooting snake after snake every year as if we ever put a dent in the population ... or making his famous flapjacks for all to enjoy. How about some wiffleball with Rich, PJ, or Suzy Prest? Trip to the "Hershey Room" for some ice cream or air hockey? Basket of shrimp at cuckoos nest? Ever row out at night and just take in the stars? How about fireworks over the lake?

Comments: Your great website has brought back many fond memories of Lake Teedyuskung! My parents, Alice and Roy Thurnall, built a cabin on Forest Lake Road near the outlet and spent summers there from 1946 until 1981. For several years prior to that we camped out at the former Camp Douglas in the woods across the road from "Whitehall", the summer home of our dear friend, Mrs. Gladys Beard. Hot summer days were spent on the lake and Wednesday and Saturday nights at the Cuckoo's Nest. My sister, (Barbara) Joan Thurnall, made her first art work sale at about the age of 14 to the Cuckoo -- a cartoon which he hung over the bar.

My parents, Vere & Lucile Blackman bought what is now the Seidensticker home in 1953 from the estate of the builder & original owner who I believe had been a local doctor. The house was a treasure trove of Arts & Crafts 'cottage' design & virtually unchanged from when it was built around the turn of the 20th C. We bought & sold it furnished (brass beds & wood burning stove included!) I my summers at the lake from '53-'60 with my mother. Father used to drive up each weekend from his work in East Brunswick N.J. I tell everyone how idyllic my childhood summers were & it's wonderful to know that others feel the same about their time at the Lake.

Comments: Hey All, My father used to be a partner on a property on the lake in the late 80's and early 90's. It was on Stevenson's Corner, now owned by the Nelsons'. It was the propery with the huge lake front, wrap around screen porch, and the deck on the second floor of the boathouse/garage. For the short time (five years) that my family owned the property, it was one of my favorite places to go in both the summer and the winter. We got snowed in once on president's day weekend. One of the best times ever. I was devestated when the partnership disolved, and they decided to sell the property. Lots of great memories playing on the lake. My parents just built a new house on Lake Meade near Gettysburg. Nice place, but does not have the charm that the Stevenson property had. By the way, the bar near the University of Delaware is called "The Stone Balloon" and is doing extremely well from what I understand. I don't know if the Stevenson family still owns it. Thanks for putting up a neat site to help jog my memories.

Jewell bought our family summer cottage/home back in 1958. Before then, we (Jewell & Seidensticker families) would vacation at Twin Lakes down by Milford, PA. All my summer childhood memories were of time spent at Lake Teedyuskung. From the earliest memories of when Woodloch Pines was only a few cottages to what it is now. From when they had horseback riding at the camp for Weight Watchers to the 4th of July fireworks each year, the walks to the spring, the walks around the entire lake...(until someone put up a fence to keep us and mother nature out)...so many fond memories. My parents Patricia and (deceased Howard) Seidensticker and my 4 siblings (Buzz, Jim, Richie & Dee) spent the mostpart of our childhoods here during the summer, not to mention those winter vacations and getting "snowed-in". Now my two Children (Ryan & Kellie) and my husband Frank Wollman and I enjoy l

Comments: My son drew my attention to this website, because we are interested in our Tachon genealogy and it contained a photograph of one of your local residents named John Tachon. I do not know him unfortunately but I do have "cousins" etc that live in Wisconsin and are directly related to me and our forebears from the Channel Islands and France. Perhaps you or someone seeing this could ask John Tachon to mail me.

Comments: I was so excited when my brother told me of this site, it brings back great memories. The lake was the best years of my life and the memories will never disappear. Over the years I have wondered about all the friends I made and where they all went. Hopefully I will find more through this site. Please write or e-mail me, all my old beloved friends.

Comments: Hi Donna - I believe Chief Teedy-us-kung installed the spring pipe in 1783!!!! I don't know but it was there in the late '40s when I got jugs of water for my Grandmother Maude at her cabin over the brook.

Comments: Great site!! My entire family used to vacation on the lake every summer. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, it was great! My uncle owned the home on the opposite side of the Seidensticker house from Woodloch Pines. Unfortunately, he sold it about 7 years ago. I remember as a kid sneaking into Woodloch to water ski and trying to row all the way to the other end of the lake, we actually did it! We were only about 12, so that was a great achievement. I even remember eating dinner in the Cuckoo's Nest, they had this great sit down pacman game. We had a ton of fun staying at that house.

Comments: I have spent many happy years visiting Lake Teedyuskung. My Grandparents and Uncle, Elizabeth, Arnold and Ted Belcher owned a cabin there named Chippewa. My Parents spent much of their youth there, and although I don't have any pictures of the cabin, I do have some pictures of his dock. I would love to email them to you to post on the site. Let me know if you want them. On your map, his cabin would be at approximately thefifth dot, where the outlet is. My Dad still lives in the area, on Blue Eddy Road, and we would really love to contribute to this site in any way that we can. My Maternal Grandmother, Missy Pugh Humphreys also had a home on the lake, on the same side as Ted's cabin, down towards where Woodlock now is. My Dad was a camper, and then a counsellor at Dan Beards. He also helped to build the Cookoo's Nest. Let me know where to send the pictures, and I will get them ready to be sent. LOVE THIS SITE!!!!!!!

Comments: Hope this new addition to the website allows for web visitors to connect with other Lake Teeduskung lovers, past and present. For example, Don Bongiovi was asking me "Where does the Spring come from? Anyone know? Yes, yes, I know...the ground, but who owns it, who put in the pipe and when, how deep is the well, etc..?
